In a special meeting held Monday night, September 25, the Whitney City Council officially named the city’s new police chief and public works supervisor. The council also approved the previously published proposed city budget and tax rate after no comments were made during required public hearings.
Kyle Nevil (left), who had been serving as the city’s interim police chief, was sworn in by Judge Trey Jetton after being officially named chief by the council. Nevil previously worked for the Hill County Sheriff’s Office before joining the city’s police force earlier this year.
Chris Brennan (left) will fill the role of public works supervisor after Billy Pribble (right) was recently named operations director.
