The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is seeking information from the public regarding a fatal hit-and-run incident near Whitney last week.
DPS Sergeant Ryan Howard said that the incident may have occurred at or after 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 3 but before 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 4.
A pedestrian traveling southbound on Farm Road 933 near HCR 1221, north of Whitney, was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
DPS had not identified the victim as of press time, but a Gofundme account set up to assist with her final expenses identified her as Tiffany Ann Rich (Dove).
Any witnesses or anyone who may have information regarding the crash should contact the Hill County Sheriff’s Office at 254-582-5313.
