An arrest has been made in connection with a fatal hit-and-run that occurred near Whitney in early October.
The Hill County Sheriff’s Office, which is assisting the Department of Public Safety on the case, announced the arrest of a 25-year-old Whitney man Thursday, November 9.
The suspect was booked into the Hill County Law Enforcement Center on a charge of collision involving death.
DPS had been seeking the public’s help since the incident, which was believed to have occurred between 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 3 and 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 4.
A pedestrian, identified as Tiffany Ann Rich (Dove), was reportedly traveling southbound on Farm Road 933 near HCR 1221, north of Whitney, when she was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.
The name of the suspect was being withheld pending arraignment as of press time.
