Hill County Precinct 2 Constable Justin Girsh turned himself in to the Bosque County Sheriff’s Office last week after being indicted by a Hill County Grand Jury on allegations that he misused official information.
According to an indictment that was filed in the 66th Judicial District Court Thursday, November 2 and unsealed after his arrest, Girsh is accused of disclosing a tax search and seizure warrant and/or writ of execution to an individual, identified as Rowdy Johnson, when it had not been made public.
Court documents state that the offense allegedly occurred in August 2022 “with intent to obtain a benefit or harm or defraud another.”
Misuse of official information is a third-degree felony, and Girsh was released after posting bond, which was set at $5,000. As a condition of his bond, he was also required to surrender all firearms to law enforcement at the time of his arrest. Constable Girsh is still on the job.
Dib Waldrip, judge of the 433rd Judicial District Court, has been assigned to preside over the case in the 66th Judicial District Court of Hill County.
