Whitney Fire Department is morning the death of long-time firefighter Daniel Potts, who passed away while preparing to respond to a structure fire Friday morning, November 24.
Whitney Fire Chief David Gilmore said that Potts passed away after experiencing a medical emergency.
Potts, who was 74, most recently served as a safety officer for the department and had been a firefighter for many years.
“The city and the fire department pray for the peace of Jesus’ love for his family and friends, giving them the ability to work through these difficult days,” said Gilmore.
Area fire departments joined in an escort to Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney Saturday. As of press time Sunday, funeral arrangements had not been announced.
