The Lake Whitney Chamber of Commerce will team up with the City of Whitney to host the first Grinch Festival downtown Saturday, December 9.
A full day of Grinch-themed activities are planned, beginning with the 14th annual Christmas Bazaar that begins at 10 a.m. Attendees can check off their Christmas lists with downtown vendors offering arts and crafts and baked goods and with downtown businesses. There will also be entertainment throughout the day.
The annual Whitney Christmas parade will get underway downtown at 6 p.m., and the city’s tree lighting will begin right after the parade downtown. The community is invited to bring an ornament to hang on the Christmas tree.
Churches, students, clubs and organizations are all invited to participate in the Christmas parade. Lineup will be at the intermediate school prior to the parade.
