Jim Holcomb has formally announced his campaign for Hill County Commissioner – Precinct 1 in the March 2024 Republican Primary. Holcomb was appointed to serve the remaining term of the former commissioner of Precinct 1 on January 11, 2023.
Commissioner Holcomb is a fiscal conservative with a heart committed to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Holcomb and his wife volunteer with Meals On Wheels and have servants’ hearts for the residents of Hill County. Holcomb has been a resident of Precinct 1 for over 16 years and he and his wife have five amazing children and love to fish and enjoy all outdoor activities.
Holcomb’s experience makes him well qualified for the position. Holcomb has a degree in finance from UTA and spent 42 years in the oil and gas industry. He has been involved in all aspects of contract negotiation; from working with landowners settling damages, to well drilling and completion. Holcomb has designed and overseen the construction and maintenance of lease access roads, many like the roads in Precinct 1.
“After hearing the concerns of the citizens of Precinct 1 over the past year, I want to affect real change in the nature of the relationship between the folks that live here, and in Hill County in general. We are all in this together and can draw from that to use our energies to get things done. Roads and bridges are just a part of this job, and I have plans to continue to upgrade the condition of both. I want to change the way the citizens of the Precinct 1 and the commissioner’s office interact by listening to you all and addressing your concerns together.”
Holcomb said he plans to continue to field all phone calls and address the issues of Precinct 1.
He went on to say, “My plans are to execute the duties of commissioner using a servant heart and my professional background to deliver the very best results for the folks in Precinct 1, and I genuinely want to hear from all citizens who have constructive input to help solve problems.”
Holcomb says his tenure as commissioner has only fueled his desire to address the needs of the community and evaluate every issue with positive results to create an atmosphere of unity.
“We can’t solve all the problems, but good solutions start with effective communication,” he said. “Vote for Jim!”
