Whitney Ridge Resort has made dramatic improvements to the 60 acres formerly known as Uncle Gus’s Lodge & Marina since purchasing the Laguna Park property in 2022.
The lakefront resort is owned by Abilene RV Partners, which has been in the business of RVs, home building and development for years, but a marina was new to them.
The company has spent nearly $7 million on updates, including opening a new state-of-the-art marina on the property that includes over 1,000 feet of lake shoreline.
Whitney Ridge offers cabins and RV sites along with numerous amenities, including a covered outdoor venue for concerts and gatherings, three reunion halls and two swimming pools.
A new boat dealership is also open, selling Godfrey, Hurricane and Blazer boats. Full-time mechanics are on site for service and repair needs on all makes and models.
Brand new rental boats and ATV rentals are also available to guests.
The marina is newly constructed with all covered slips that include electric and water. There are 200 slips with hydrohoist available and lease-to-own options.
Currently, a grand-opening special is being offered through February 15 that includes an 11’x6’x29′ slip for $345 a month. VIP slips with designated private parking spots are available for $595 per month. Houseboat slips with VIP parking are available for $695 per month.
Nightly and yearly rates are available, along with dock box storage, a ship store with bait and fuel, three boat ramps, a fishing pier, daily and yearly boat ramp passes and a food truck.
The new owners expanded the onsite RV park, and sites are equipped with 50/30 amp, full hookups, fire pits, picnic tables and paved pads. There are a total of 95 RV sites, with 26 of those for short-term stays.
Free boat ramps are available and have been restored. Extensive security lighting has been placed on ramps and marina slips, and there are security gates at each marina cluster.
The office at Whitney Ridge is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week. The dealership and service department is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
