Zach Brown running for Bosque County attorney in primary

Zach Brown has announced that he is running for Bosque County attorney in the March 5 Republican Primary. “Bosque County has given so much to my family over the generations,” he said, “and I’m asking that it give me the support of its voters in the upcoming primary.”

He stated: “I was blessed to attend junior high and high school in Clifton and to spend my formative years in Bosque County. I was also blessed to move back home with my family about three years ago and am so thankful to be able to watch my kids grow up on the family farm in our home community of Coon Creek. We’ve been here for eight generations now and have no intention of leaving—win, lose or draw. It was not my plan to move home and run for office, however, such an important job calls for a competent and experienced practitioner. That is why I decided to run for Bosque County attorney, and that is why I humbly ask for your vote and support.”

The county attorney performs a multitude of functions within the county, but primary duties include: prosecuting misdemeanors, representing the State of Texas in all Child Protective Services matters that arise within Bosque County and advising the Commissioners Court and other county officials regarding legal issues.

“My current practice exclusively consists of criminal defense and CPS cases, where I represent parents who have had their children removed from their homes by the state,” he said. “If chosen by the voters to be their next county attorney, I would go to the other side of the aisle, however, I believe that my experience and the relationships I’ve developed in my current practice will serve the county and myself well as I carry out the duties of county attorney.”

He added, “I also believe that my past work experience and the time I served as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army will aid me in giving sound counsel to county officials.”

If elected, Brown said that he would not maintain a private practice and will devote 100% of his time to county business and serving the citizens of Bosque County.

“Elected office is a form of service to the community, and I look forward to serving my community of Coon Creek, my hometown of Clifton, and all the citizens of Bosque County as your next county attorney,” he said. “May God bless you and your families.”
