The Whitney City Council will meet in a regular monthly session Thursday, February 15, at 6 p.m.
The council is expected to call a general election on Saturday, May 4, for the purpose of electing three council members. A joint election agreement is also expected to be approved with Whitney Independent School District to allow the city and school to hold a joint election.
Council members will consider moving the location of council meetings from the city annex to the Lake Whitney Public Library. A city policy regarding meeting agendas and conduct is also expected to be approved.
The council will consider establishing a city permit committee and appointing two council members to serve on the committee.
The placement of new cameras at City Hall is also on the agenda for discussion.
A contract with Rene Bates Auctioneers will be considered to allow the city to dispose of surplus property.
Other regular business will also be discussed, and department heads will provide their monthly reports to the council.
The meeting will be held at the City of Whitney Annex, located at 106 North Colorado Street in Whitney.
