The Lake Whitney Chamber of Commerce is still accepting award nominations and auction donations ahead of the 69th annual awards banquet set for Thursday, April 11. Individual tickets and corporate tables are also now available.
The main purpose of this dinner is to give chamber members an opportunity to recognize members of our community who give of their time and talents to make the Lake Whitney area a great place to live.
Nominations are being accepted for citizen of the year, chamber member of the year, educator of the year, young person of the year and Hall of Fame.
Those submitting nominations should provide information about why the individual should receive the award, how the nominee has made a difference in the community, examples of the person’s volunteerism or advocacy and other information that should be shared with the committee.
All nominations must be received by 4 p.m. Monday, April 1. Information can be emailed to the chamber at info@lakewhitneychamber.com.
The nominator will be requested to introduce the winner on the evening of the awards banquet.
Auction donations will help the chamber fund scholarships, promote Lake Whitney and support other projects that will benefit the Lake Whitney area.
Early donors will have their item listed publicly in the chamber’s newsletter and on Facebook.
Those who would prefer to donate money instead of auction items are welcome to do so.
Donors are asked to return donations to the chamber office by April 1. To have an item picked up, call the chamber office at 254-694-2540 or email info@lakewhitneychamber.com.
Tickets to the banquet are $80 each. Corporate tables for eight can be purchased for $600, and premium tables for eight can be purchased for $400.
The event will be held at the HILCO Civic and Event Center in Itasca.
Contact the chamber to purchase tickets or for more information about this year’s banquet.
