The Hill County Commissioners Court met in a brief regular session Tuesday, March 12.
A financing agreement was approved with Government Capital Corporation for the purchase of a track loader in Precinct 4 in the amount of $144,760.
Commissioners also approved a final plat for the Skyline Estates Subdivision involving 17 lots in Precinct 4 and a preliminary plat for the Rocky Ridge Subdivision in the Peoria area.
The Child Protective Services Board’s February treasurer’s report was also observed and recorded by the court. It showed total public donations of $1,020 in February.
Hill County Emergency Management Coordinator Tom Hemrick told the court that there have been discussions about the possibility of declaring a disaster burn ban at the final meeting of the month ahead of the April 8 solar eclipse if conditions warrant action.
With the number of visitors expected to camp in the county and resources expected to be strained, Hemrick said that there is concern about campers building campfires in dry fields.
The court is expected to discuss conditions and determine if the action is warranted at the Tuesday, March 26, meeting. It will be held at 8:30 a.m. in the Hill County Courtroom of the courthouse in Hillsboro.
