The Whitney City Council will meet in regular session Thursday evening, March 28, at 6 p.m. The meeting was rescheduled from the regular meeting date last Thursday.
The council will discuss updates to the city’s animal control code and beginning the first phase of an animal control initiative in the city.
The council will consider a facility use agreement with Whitney Youth Association for the use of fields at the city park during baseball and softball season.
Council members will also discuss the auction of surplus property and consider a contract with Rene Bates Auctioneers.
The closing of city offices on Monday, April 8 — the day of the total solar eclipse — is also on the agenda for discussion, and the city’s employee handbook is expected to be approved.
The meeting will be held at the Lake Whitney Public Library, located at 602 East Jefferson Avenue in Whitney.
