The Hill County Commissioners Court met in a special session Tuesday, April 2, and voted to go back out for bids to address remaining needs after annual bids for materials were accepted at the end of March.
Precinct 1 will seek bids for road base, and the county will seek bids for fuel to serve the sheriff’s office after the current fuel provider failed to submit a bid and no other company submitted a bid.
Bids will be due Friday, April 19, and reviewed by commissioners Tuesday, April 23.
The court also approved contracts for improvements at the Hill County Cell Block Museum and Support Services Building.
In February, commissioners accepted bids from Du-West Foundation Repair for the museum repairs and LD Tebben Roofing for roof repairs at the Support Services Building.
The court’s acceptance of the contracts formalizes those selections.
The court also approved seeking available Texas Department of Transportation grant funds for traffic enforcement initiatives. Under the grant program, deputies can sign up to work overtime during special traffic enforcement periods, such as the state’s Click It or Ticket and Operation Slowdown initiatives, and TxDOT will reimburse the county for the majority of the payroll costs.
In other action, commissioners approved the annual County Information Resource Agency services agreement for operation of the county’s website.
The next regularly scheduled meeting was scheduled for Tuesday, April 9, at 8:30 a.m. in the Hill County Courtroom of the courthouse.
