The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has announced that it is planning road repairs on the Whitney Dam bridge from April 17 through May 18.
The bridge on State Highway 22 over the dam will be limited to a single lane between Soldiers Bluff Park and Riverside Park between 6:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., seven days a week.
The Corps reported that the contractor will use pilot trucks and flaggers to direct traffic, and travelers should expect significant delays when crossing the dam.
Alternate routes across Whitney Lake or the Brazos River include FM 1409/1713 or FM 2114, respectively.
“The Corps of Engineers at Whitney Lake appreciates your patience as they work to ensure critical infrastructure continues to function as needed,” the Corps stated in a press release.
