The Hill County Jail is back in compliance with minimum jail standards after a recent re-inspection conducted by the Texas Commission on Jail Standards (TCJS).
According to a letter delivered to Hill County Sheriff Rodney Watson from TCJS Executive Director Brandon Wood earlier this month, all deficiencies have been corrected, and the jail was issued a Certificate of Compliance.
The facility had been found in violation of five minimum standards during a February inspection, and the sheriff’s office reported in March that the issues had been quickly addressed.
The re-inspection was completed Wednesday, April 3, and the Certificate of Compliance was issued Tuesday, April 9.
