An arrest was made Wednesday, July 10, in connection with a fatal crash that occurred Saturday, May 18, near Peoria.
Nathan Fisher, 29, of Midlothian surrendered to authorities at the Hill County Law Enforcement Center on a charge of intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle.
The crash claimed the life of 54-year-old Helen Maxwell of Whitney. According to DPS reports at the time of the crash, the victim was driving a Pontiac sport-utility vehicle on Highway 22 around 8:50 p.m. when the driver of an eastbound Chevrolet pickup drove onto the wrong side of the roadway and crashed into her vehicle.
Maxwell was pronounced dead at the scene, and Fisher was transported to Baylor Scott and White – Hillcrest for treatment.
Fisher was booked into the Hill County jail with bond set at $350,000.
