The City of Whitney’s new animal control program has had several successes lately, including locating and adopting out animals that were found to be strays in the city.
The city recently began caring for young puppies and is seeking donations of puppy food, old towels and puppy chew toys (no rawhide).
City officials said that as the word gets out about the animal control program and more people call on animal control to assist animals in crisis, the need for volunteers, donations and other assistance is growing.
For more information about assisting or making a donation, contact City Hall at 254-694-2261 or email david.gilmore@cityofwhitneytx.org or drew.youngblood@cityofwhitneytx.org.
