The candidate filing period for cities and schools holding elections in November officially opened Saturday, July 20, and will continue through Monday, August 19.
In our area, Aquilla Independent School District and the City of Blum hold elections in November, while others hold elections in May.
The City of Blum will have three council positions available, with the terms of Brandon Munn, Terry Thomas and Chris Findley expiring this year. Filing is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Blum City Hall, located at 105 South Avenue C. Note that City Hall is closed from 12 to 1 p.m. for lunch. For more information, call Blum City Hall at 254-874-5772.
Aquilla ISD has two school board seats currently held by Jason Crose and David Snipes up in November. Filing will be at the Aquilla ISD Administration Office, located at 404 North Richards Street in Aquilla, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays. For more information, call 254-694-3770.
City and school elections will be held on the Tuesday, November 5, general election date. Early voting will begin Monday, October 21.
