The Whitney City Council will meet in a regular session Thursday, August 15, at 6 p.m.
The council is expected to propose a tax rate for the coming year and set a public hearing, if necessary.
Engineering of the new wastewater treatment plant with Clark Associates is on the agenda for discussion.
The council will consider amendments to the city’s wrecker ordinance. The amendments aim to refine definitions, clarify operational requirements and enhance regulatory compliance for wrecker services within the city’s ability to regulation them.
Resolutions approving the placement of liens on properties in the 800 block of North Brazos and the 400 block of East Jefferson will be considered. Cleanup of both properties was initiated by the city after high grass violations.
The council will consider advertising and accepting sealed bids for city-owned properties on North San Jacinto Street and East Polk Avenue.
A 2015 Polaris, water pump and dump trailer are expected to be deemed surplus property and sold with the council’s approval.
A special events application submitted by the Lake Whitney Chamber of Commerce for the city’s 15th annual Grinch Fest and Christmas parade set for Saturday, December 14, will be considered.
The council will also hear monthly reports from department heads.
The meeting will be held in the Lake Whitney Public Library’s meeting room, located at 602 East Jefferson Avenue.
