The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be hosting the third annual Lake Whitney Christmas Bird Count from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, January 4.
All are invited to participate in what will be part of the 125th National Christmas Bird Count, the world’s oldest citizen science program.
Participants will learn about the birds of Central Texas and the wider hobby of “birding.” Beginners are welcome; drivers and experienced birders are needed.
The event will begin at 285 County Road 3602 in Laguna Park (Clifton address).
For count maps, more information or to sign up, reach out to the Whitney Lake Project Office between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at 254-622-3332, or email mary.k.devers@usace.army.mil.
