The Whitney Police Department arrested a 39-year-old man who entered a Whitney home Monday, January 13.
According to reports, officers were dispatched to the 400 block of East Lee Way just before 8 p.m. An armed resident of the home reportedly subdued and held the man until officers arrived.
Whitney police reported that the subject, who was a transient former Hill County resident, appeared to possibly be under the influence of a substance and was looking for a ride to Hillsboro.
The man was taken into custody and charged with a felony when he arrived at the county jail, where he was found to have a large knife in his possession.
Jacob Hight was charged with criminal trespass and possession of a deadly weapon in a penal institution.
Hight’s bond was set at $110,000.
