The Whitney City Council will meet in a regular session at 6 p.m. Thursday, February 20.
The council will consider establishing a residence homestead exemption for the city and a residence homestead exemption for disabled individuals and those over 65.
Council members will also review a professional services agreement with Westwood Professional Services to submit a project information form to the Texas Water Development Board for funding from the State Revolving Fund.
An employment offer to a police officer applicant is on the agenda for consideration.
The council is expected to formalize an agreement with GrantWorks to provide professional services related to Hazard Mitigation Assistance programs.
An ordinance amendment that would allow for the appointment of an associate municipal judge is on the agenda. The individual would be available if the municipal judge has to recuse himself or is unable to act.
Council members will also hear a citizen’s request for a street light at the intersection of Washington and San Jacinto, consider an agreement with Baker Elite for the housing development discussed at the last meeting, and hear monthly reports from department heads.
The meeting will be held in the meeting room of the Lake Whitney Public Library, located at 602 East Jefferson Avenue in Whitney.
