An auto-pedestrian accident claimed the life of a Blum man early Tuesday morning, February 11.
According to Department of Public Safety Sergeant Ryan Howard, troopers responded to the scene on Farm Road 933 in Blum at approximately 6 a.m.
Howard said that a northbound Chevrolet Silverado struck a pedestrian who was crossing the roadway.
Jerry Weast, 66, was transported to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Cleburne, where he was later pronounced deceased.
No other injuries were reported.
Howard encouraged pedestrians to always ensure they are visible to drivers, especially at night or in low-light conditions.
“Wearing reflective clothing, bright colors, or even carrying a flashlight can increase your visibility to drivers,” he said.
