Dylan Hancock, an Aquilla resident, will compete at the 12th annual American Rodeo Championship Weekend presented by Teton Ridge Friday, April 11, and Saturday, April 12.
The 21-year-old placed sixth in the 2024 World Standings and 2024 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo Standings. Hancock is currently ranked 17th in the world in tie-down roping.
The rodeo will be held at Globe Life Field in Arlington and feature 180 individuals competing for up to $2.6 million. The competitors represent four countries and 31 U.S. states, with the roster including 10 National High School Rodeo Association athletes and 29 world champions.
The event will broadcast live on FOX, FS1 and FS2, bringing western sports to a national audience. With a record-breaking $3.6 million awarded in 2024, The American Rodeo Contender Tournament and Championship Weekend continues to raise the bar as one of the most lucrative and thrilling events in western sports.
The event will also feature live entertainment from country music sensations Bailey Zimmerman, Riley Green and special guest Ella Langley.
