A Midlothian man has been sentenced to six years in prison for a fatal crash that occurred near Peoria last year.
Nathan Fisher, 29, was arrested after the May 18, 2024, crash and charged with intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle.
The crash claimed the life of 54-year-old Helen Maxwell of Whitney. According to DPS reports, the victim was driving a Pontiac sport-utility vehicle on Highway 22 around 8:50 p.m. when Fisher drove a Chevrolet pickup onto the wrong side of the roadway and crashed into her vehicle.
Maxwell was pronounced dead at the scene, and Fisher was transported to a Waco hospital for treatment and then booked into the Hill County jail.
He was sentenced in the 66th Judicial District Court of Hill County in May.
