Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced last week that he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.2 billion in local sales tax allocations for June, 6.1% more than in June 2024.
The City of Whitney’s June allocation came to $88,369, up just under 1% compared to last June. So far in 2025, the city’s payments have totaled $518,120, up 6.88% compared to the same time period last year.
Hill County’s June payment was $457,042, down almost 32% compared to last June. Year to date, the county’s sales tax revenue has totaled $2,408,303, up about five percent over the same time period last year.
In the county seat, the City of Hillsboro’s June allocation came to $503,865, up 27% compared to last June. Year-to-date figures show Hillsboro receiving $2,981,950 for the first half of 2025, which is up over 17% compared to 2024’s numbers.
June allocations and changes from last June for other Hill County cities included: Abbott – $13,522, up 9.91%; Aquilla – $1,676, up 7.36%; Blum – $4,940, down 83.53%; Bynum – $873.18, down 0.96%; Carl’s Corner – $5,732, down 2.71%; Covington – $7,256, up 12.36%; Hubbard – $28,707, up 33.12%; Itasca – $27,674.97, up 39.61%; Malone – $2,325.94, down 27.59%; Mertens -$925.39, up 34.51%; Mount Calm – $2,215, up 58.60%; Penelope – $727.59, up 2.96%.
Bosque County’s June allocation came to $89,169, up 8.91% compared to June 2024. Year to date, the county has received $546,825, up 15.48% compared to the same time period last year.
These allocations are based on sales made in April by businesses that report tax monthly.
