The filing period for cities and schools holding elections in November officially opened Saturday, July 19, and will continue through Monday, August 18.
Local entities that have announced November elections include Aquilla ISD and the City of Blum. Others in our area normally hold elections in May.
Aquilla ISD will have the school board seats currently held by Diane Montgomery, Courtney Lewis and Tamara Harrison (Urbanovsky) on the ballot in November. Filing will be Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the school, located at 404 North Richards in Aquilla.
The City of Blum will have the mayor’s position and two council spots available in November. Candidate filing will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays through the filing period at Blum City Hall, 105 South Avenue C. City Hall is closed from noon to 1 p.m. for lunch.
The elections will be held Tuesday, November 4. Texans will also vote on proposed constitutional amendments on this date. Visit votetexas.gov for more information about the November election date.
