The Whitney City Council will meet in its monthly session Thursday, July 24, at 6 p.m. This month’s meeting was moved from its usual date on the third Thursday of the month.
The council will hear a presentation from Greg Brown of E-Volve Energy on long-term energy rates for the city.
A citizen’s agenda item request from Dianne Wyatt will be discussed regarding city property on West Washington Avenue.
A discussion and update on Trinity Street, Bush Drive and the installation of speed bumps is on the agenda.
The council will discuss brush piles set out for collection and city mulching of brush.
Two special event permits submitted by the Lake Whitney Chamber of Commerce will be considered. One is for the use of soccer fields for the Merriweather Circus, and another is for the 50th annual Pioneer Days festival.
An executive session is also on the agenda for discussions regarding real property, personnel matters and economic development.
The meeting will be held at the Lake Whitney Public Library, located at 602 East Jefferson Avenue in Whitney.
