Candidates planning to seek positions on the Aquilla ISD Board of Trustees or Blum city offices have until Monday, August 18, to file.
Both entities have announced November elections, while other cities and schools normally hold elections in May.
Aquilla ISD will have the school board seats currently held by Diane Montgomery, Courtney Lewis and Tamara Harrison (Urbanovsky) on the ballot in November. Filing is being conducted Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the school, located at 404 North Richards in Aquilla.
The City of Blum will have the mayor’s position and two council spots available. Candidate filing is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays through the filing period at Blum City Hall, 105 South Avenue C. City Hall is closed from noon to 1 p.m. for lunch.
The elections will be held Tuesday, November 4. Texans will also vote on proposed constitutional amendments on this date. Visit votetexas.gov for more information about the November election.
