Area voters approved one Emergency Services District (ESD) 1 proposal and rejected another on Election Day, Tuesday, November 4.
Local voters also joined with the rest of the state in passing Texas constitutional amendments.
Hill County ESD 1 presented two proposals to voters, asking to implement a sales tax and raise the district’s property tax ceiling.
Voters were in favor of the sales tax proposal by a margin of 2,398 to 1,374, but the higher tax ceiling failed to gain voter approval by a margin of 2,231 to 1,506.
For Aquilla ISD, Courtney Lewis, Diane Montgomery and Brandon Haworth garnered the votes to win seats on the board.
Hill and Bosque county residents were largely in favor of the 17 proposed statewide constitutional amendments, which also passed statewide.
