Every two years, Texas high school athletic directors and coaches plan contingencies for the district realignment announcement from the University Interscholastic League (UIL). The league recently announced its latest alignments for 2026-28.
In Class 3A, the Whitney Wildcats football program will remain in Division I and face some familiar foes in West and Grandview in District 6. The district will also contain Groesbeck, Keene, Mexia and Palmer.
In volleyball, Whitney, Grandview, Blooming Grove, Keene, Maypearl, Palmer, Rice and Rio Vista will make up District 16.
In basketball, Whitney and West will be in District 18 with Clifton, Lorena, McGregor, Troy and Waco Meyer.
In Division I six-man football, Blum, Covington and Milford will make up District 11 1A with Avalon and Bluff Dale. Abbott, Aquilla, Penelope, Coolidge and Gholson will form District 14.
In Class 1A basketball, Blum, Bynum, Covington and Milford will be in District 23 with Avalon, Kopperl and Morgan.
Basketball District 26 will feature Abbott, Aquilla, Cranfills Gap, Evant, Gholson, Jonesboro and Oglesby.
In Class 1A volleyball, Blum, Covington, Kopperl and Morgan will form District 17.
District 18 volleyball will contain Abbott, Aquilla, Bynum, Milford and Avalon.
