The voter registration deadline for new voters planning to cast a ballot in May city and school elections is Thursday, April 2. This is also the deadline for voters to register a change of address for the May election date.
Texas law requires eligible voters to register by the 30th day before election day.
The City of Whitney and Whitney ISD will hold a joint election on May 2 to fill seats on the Whitney City Council and Whitney ISD Board of Trustees.

Three candidates will seek two full three-year school board seats. They include incumbents Nicole Corson and AJ Marino, along with Connie Terry. Incumbent Brent Marbut was the only candidate to seek a one-year unexpired term on the board.
To confirm voter registration status, Texans can visit the Texas Secretary of State’s “Am I Registered?” portal, which allows them to look up their voter registration record in the statewide voter registration database.
