Candidates in Aquilla filed to run for city and school board positions before the filing period for November’s election closed last week. The Aquilla ISD Board of Trustees also called a bond election to be held in November.
The district will ask voters to consider a plan for multipurpose facilities, classroom space and athletic facilities after the board voted to call the election last week. More details about the proposal will be featured in upcoming editions.
Aquilla ISD also has two school board seats available in November. Incumbent Will Pinner hopes to retain his seat, and others on the ballot will be Amber Cain, Jerry Juhl, Jimmy Wade and Kevin Clepper.
Only incumbents filed for positions with the City of Aquilla. Mayor Gerald Schronk and council members Kyle McCurdy, James Hamner Sr. and James Hamner Jr. will keep their seats.
The election will be held Tuesday, November 7. Constitutional amendments will also be on the ballot statewide.
Those who are not registered to vote and plan to vote in the election must register by October 10 to be eligible to cast a ballot in November.
