The City of Whitney has announced special brush pickup dates due to recent storms that have led to downed trees and large limbs.
G&B Services will pick up debris in the city Thursday, June 6, and Friday, June 7. All pieces must be smaller than eight inches around, no longer than four feet and no more than 40 pounds.
The crew will be driving by all houses in the city and collecting brush that is stacked properly on the curb, so residents should have their brush ready for pickup by Thursday, June 6. Residents do not need to call ahead to have brush picked up.
On Saturday after G&B has made rounds, the city will pick up limbs with a diameter of more than eight inches to take to the burn pit. These have to be able to be picked up and put onto the trailer, with a maximum of four feet and approximately 40 pounds.
The Saturday pickup is not an opportunity to put out more brush. This is only a time for larger limbs to be collected. To get on the Saturday pickup list, call Whitney City Hall at 254-694-2261 or email drew.youngblood@cityofwhitneytx.org.
Residents should note that only clean wood piles will be picked up; no non-wood piles or construction materials will be accepted.
