Lake Whitney Veterans Center of Resources Inc. was founded in January 2026 after city and county officials reached out for help with homeless veterans and transportation challenges in rural Hill County. Recognizing the need for dedicated veteran support, a small group of veterans and family members came together to create an organization committed to connecting veterans with the resources they need.
On March 27, 2026, Lake Whitney Veterans Center of Resources officially became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Founded by Tommy and Donna “Red” Richardson, the organization was built from their personal experiences navigating the Veterans Affairs (VA) system. After 17 years of fighting for Tommy’s VA disability rating and helping their Iraq War veteran son through his own VA challenges after an RPG attack on his Humvee, they understood the struggles many veterans face and were determined to make a difference.
The organization is led by Billy Pribble Jr. (U.S. Army), president of the Board of Directors. Barbara Dole serves as secretary, and Jennifer Daniels serves as treasurer. The Advisory Board includes Henry Alderson (U.S. Air Force), Kyle Nevil (U.S. Marine Corps), Justin Girsh (U.S. Army) and Jason Sneed (U.S. Marine Corps). Donna “Red” Richardson serves as chief executive officer.
Following the loss of original Secretary Charles Boyer (U.S. Air Force), the organization created the Charles Boyer Emergency Resource Fund to honor his legacy and provide emergency assistance, including temporary housing and other urgent veteran needs.
Since January 2026, the organization has housed two homeless veterans, is providing emergency lodging for a third, and assisted numerous veterans with transportation, food, clothing, hygiene supplies and other essential resources.
Through community partnerships, compassion and dedication, the organization continues its mission to ensure every veteran receives the support, dignity and resources they have earned through their service to this country.
