Texas Comptroller Don Huffines delivered $1.3 billion in sales tax allocations to local governments in September, 7.6% more than in September 2025. Locally, the City of Whitney’s September allocation came to $107,695, up almost 25% compared to last September.
So far in 2026, Whitney’s sales tax proceeds are trending over 20% higher than 2025, with $946,257 received this year to date.
In the county seat, the City of Hillsboro’s September allocation came to $601,444, up over 16% compared to last September. Year to date, Hillsboro’s allocations have totaled $4,749,636, an increase of about 4% over the same time period last year.
Hill County’s September payment was $457,124, up almost 19% compared to last September. Year-to-date figures show the county receiving $3,936,129 so far in 2026, up about 9% over last year.
September allocations and changes from last year for other Hill County cities in September were: Abbott – $17,858.31, up 36.78%; Aquilla – $2,207.15, up 17.57%; Blum – $10,523, up 114.42%; Bynum – $2,924.40, up 203.12%; Carl’s Corner – $2,114.79, down 59.01%; Covington – $7,977.90, up 11.62%; Hubbard – $99,728.59, up 100.68%; Itasca – $36,592.97, up 29.13%; Malone – $3,162.15, up 30.62%; Mertens – $525.17, up 20.41%; Mount Calm – $2,698.14, up 30.20%; Penelope – $1,024.63, up 18.82%.
Bosque County’s September allocation was $107,459, up about 7% over last September. Year to date, Bosque County’s distributions have totaled $1,115,548, up about 34% over last year.
Allocations and changes for Bosque County cities in September included: Clifton – $150,643.98, up 16.78%; Cranfills Gap – $4,283.86, up 10.04%; Iredell – $5,348.62, up 37.53%; Meridian – $27,029.27, up 7.39%; Morgan – $6,045.52, up 44.93%; Valley Mills – $16,461.05, down 11.79%; Walnut Springs – $9,725.09, up 27.19%.
These allocations are based on sales made in July by businesses that report tax monthly.
