In last week’s edition of The Lakelander, we reported that Whitney High School athlete Orrin Green’s long jump of 22 feet and 5.75 inches was a school record. However, in 1967 Whitney High School junior Pete Cook won a first-ever state title for Whitney with a long jump of 22 feet and 8.75 inches. Mr. Cook and his family stated that they will be rooting for Green’s success at the upcoming state meet.
