Whitney will hold a city-wide garage sale Friday through Sunday, September 4-6, with the City of Whitney waiving garage sale permit fees for the weekend.
Residents are encouraged to set up garage sales, while shoppers can search for treasures throughout the city. Sales will be included on a city-wide garage sale list.
Residents who want their sale included on the list must contact City Hall by 5 p.m. Thursday, September 3.
Adding to the weekend’s activities, Whitney Fire Rescue will hold a pulled pork sandwich fundraiser Friday and Saturday at the fire station, 115 West Jefferson Avenue in downtown Whitney.
Meals will be served from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days and will include a pulled pork sandwich, chips and a drink for a $10 donation benefiting the fire department.
