The candidate filing period for November 3 city and school elections will open Saturday, July 18 and continue through Monday, August 17. In our area, there will be elections in Aquilla and Blum.
Aquilla ISD will hold an election for the board seats currently held by Will Pinner and Kevin Clepper. Filing will be Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the school, located at 404 North Richards Street.
The City of Blum has the mayor’s spot open, and the council seats of Terry Thomas and Chris Finley will be on the ballot. Candidate filing will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays through the filing period at Blum City Hall, 105 South Avenue C. City Hall is closed from noon to 1 p.m. for lunch.
The last day for new voters to register and be eligible to vote in November elections is Monday, October 5. Early voting will be conducted October 19 through 30.
